On Sunday, September 28, the City of Prince George’s premier sports and entertainment venue turns 30. The CN Centre, formerly known as the Prince George Multiplex, opened its doors for the first time on September 28, 1995.
To honour the occasion, the City is hosting the Big Celebration Event at the CN Centre from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The celebration will also include the City’s annual International Students Welcome and Thank You PG Volunteer Appreciation events. Residents can expect:
- Live music
- Free public skating and equipment rentals sponsored by Architecture 49
- Free food and drinks (wouldn’t be a 30th celebration without cake!)
- Visit from Mr. PG
- Fun games and giveaways
Event schedule
- Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
- Skating: 1 to 1:45 p.m.
- Speeches: 1:45 to 2:15 p.m.
- Ice Flood: 2:15 to 2:25 p.m.
- Skating: 2:25 to 3:30 p.m.
